The only positive thing about Kerry Katona??

Listening to: Soho Dolls - 'Stripper'

Out of all the seven deadly sins, there are a few which I frequently indulge in despite what my surname suggests (its 'Saint' by the way). My top three would have to be gluttony, sloth and… (cue a brief internet search)… who knows, probably a dominant dash of pride. The main sin that I’m currently in the midst of is, of course, gluttony. My poor potbelly is straining at my waistband as I sit on my arse in my tiny hot office. However, the pain of the straining belly pales in comparison to the enormous guilt I now carry over last night’s crazy binge. It was a case of coming home from work, having dinner, the thought of having something sweet entering my mind… then I blacked out. I came round to find myself lying in the centre of the kitchen floor, chocolate smeared around my mouth, crusts of bread tragically splayed around me, empty cartons flung over the counter tops. A serious crime scene. All I know is something bad had happened, and I felt dirty all over.

According to the knowledgeable abyss that is Wikipedia, there are several types of gluttony which are apparently going to send you belly-flopping down to the pits of hell. And goddamn it, I’m guilty of every one (apart from the dainty one, shove it in my gob thank you please):

Eating too soon.
Eating too expensively.
Eating too much.
Eating too eagerly (burningly).
Eating too daintily (keenly).
Eating wildly (boringly).
Jesus, the Pope sure was a fussy eater.

The lengths I’ll go on a binge is pretty impressive to be honest. No cookies left in the packet? All ice cream licked out the container? All’s not lost, grab a spoon and a jar of peanut butter/jam/apple sauce and voila! Instant treat that I’m sure God would be proud of.
I know that people (I refuse to be sexist and pin food obsession on girls alone) can obsess slightly over diets and figures, but this is getting ridiculous since I graduated and was forced back home A.K.A food central. The usual 7Ilbs have piled on, but since I no longer have the escape of University it might just keep going until the headlines read: ‘30 stone person rots in own chair-gender unknown due to extreme obesity’.

Save my soul now with fruit and Weetabix. Weightwatchers now seem more like a jiggling troupe of messiahs, and Fat Fighters must have added their own halos to the posters or that crack has got me hallucinating again.
Anyway, the point of this depressed moan about my shit diet is that whatever’s happening in your life, I have a sure-fire guarantee to make you feel better: Switch on MTV’S ‘Kerry Katona: Crazy in Love’ and watch the kebab garnished car-crash unfold. Ten minutes should do it (that’s all I can literally stomach) and your ready to face your life again. Life suddenly doesn’t seem too bad.

p.s. i cant believe i missed the beginning of Gossip Girl season 3 last night. but instead i saw Zombieland....

Hearts of Glass

Listening to: Blondie - Heart of Glass

Here's some true rock n roll inspiration and absolute gorgeousness, courtesy of Debby Harry. She was amazing in Blondie, as you can see I'm reliving her glory days and listening to their greatest hits. i think I'm going a little crazy from being stuck in my room trying to revise! I've got four exams, all in the next 2 1/2 weeks.... the pitiful amount of revision should be making me crap myself, but i think Ive got to the point of education where it has left me brain dead, without caring!! uh oh.... Where's my usual panic adrenaline to motivate me??!

But anyway. i know how everyone has hang-ups about their body. it really pisses me off how i can get so paranoid about the way my legs/thighs/belly look and whether I'm baring too much or dressing a little too... 'out there' or something! in 15 years time, I'm sure there's going to be a fat chunk of my wardrobe which would definitely not be 'appropriate' for my age, so Ive got to make the most of it now!

Dammit, I'm young, i should be able to make fashion mistakes!! this city is way to small, you feel really dressed up if your not in jeans/jogging bottoms/hoodies/Ugg boats (yuck.).... but luckily, i physically cannot bring myself to leave the house in any of those! i don't mind jeans, i just hardly wear them.

my mid-week resolution, is to not give fuck and dress how i like and ignore the boring uniform..make the most of my youth!!

... inspiration taken from Ms Harry....

What's up Wasson?

Listening to: Bat for Lashes- Daniel

This song is amazing, the signer has such an ethereal haunting voice. it makes me want my own Daniel. uh oh, getting sappy again!!

Feeling a little hungover this fair morn. Last night, forced myself out for the third time in a row so am now feeling haggard, bloated, pissed off, sleep deprived, bitter and twisted. i want to jump on a train to London and go to fabulous places with oodles of money and not be in this skin!

once again, no hot talent were out in the Cavern (the only decent club in this town). my friend went a bit crazyand bit the DJ on the pec... he texted me this morn to ask if he should get a rabies shot. Probably.

But in the doom and gloom of my hangover, i discovered the amazingness of the model Erin Wasson in this massive bible of a magazine (similar to LOVE) called 'Plastique'. she had an interview featured...she is so kick ass cool:

Q: As well as styling for alexander wang, you also styled a fashion story for Elle recently. How did that come about?

A: i thought it would be cool to do a story based on the movie Empire Records. The film is about grunge kids in the '90s working at a record shop. i thought it was a great scenario that had never been used in a fashion story. i pitched the idea to Elle and they liked it. We used actors, not models. i didnt want the girls to be too pretty. the pictures looked really natural and real.

So cool, love the clothes, love her.

ahoy!

Listening to: La Roux - For the Kill (skreamy remix)

Aye aye! dear lord do i love the nautical style! i know it may sound like im jumping on the bandwagon, and am a little late on loving the sailor style, but the amount of stripes and anchors i've discovered lurking within my wardrobe shows that this sneaky statement has infiltrated my life without really knowing!

i really love the anchor, its such a classic nautical symbol which looks kick ass cool as a tattoo, like Gossip's Beth Ditto and Kate Moss. i love traditional tattoos
*that explains my stars and heart tatts*
but now im thinkin about an anchor...or maybe the classic swallow?? who knows!

i purchased this kitsch anchor pendant from ebay for.... wait for it.... £1!!!!! It was free P&P as well- boom!

RIGHT, only 5 days until the dissertation (which has totally taken over my life) is due. it appears under control but man, does it make life glum... going out tonight... serious steam needs to blown!

all you need is LOVE

Listening to: Alexisonfire - Get Fighted

LOVE magazine is a bible of amazing photography and fashion and models- o my days, when i found the latest edition (first edition??) at my sister's, i took about an hour scouring the pages and soaking up the artistic brilliance of this vivid fashion mag.

If i had owned the magazine, i would have been tearing loads of the fashion shoots out, they're literally like pieces of art...however i think i would have been castrated by her flatmate who had shelled out the precious £5 for the privilege of owning it... but check out some of the gorgeous photographs.....

I want to have her body so i can wear crop tops and denim shorts without looking like a barrel.

My cousin's wife is obsessed with Adrianna...and just named her new-born baber after her....

BETH DITTO IS AMAZING!!! Saw The Gossip play last summer, she is one hell of a ball of energy...she leaped into the crowd and i touched her shoulder...my claim to fame...

p.s. i didn't drown yesterday, but actually hauled my ass to the pool! sweet... might force myself to go on a run laters since i may have had some wine, a creme egg....and a hot cross bun late last night...dammit!!
But the epic struggle with the dissertation continues...working bar/waitress shifts for the next 3 days though. Shit. i need to get some serious work done.. now.
No BBQ fun allowed tonight!!!

I got love for you if you grew up in the '90s

Listening to: Klaxons - Magick

... it seems I'm totally digging the nineties at the moment, what with the love for Pixie's headband (which i purchased today, just need to figure out how to wear it around my big head), and now I've indulged in some culottes! But check out how cute they are with their pony print....and £10 in the asos.com sale. boo ya!

Here's how my wishlist stands at the moment... i'm trying to stick to items which i can wear when i go traveling after i graduate, like distressed denim and black shorts and light dresses....but i'm going to need a dress for grad ball aren't i??!

*cue this amazing gold dress from Kate Moss's latest Topshop collection*

also this girl's entire outfit

and on a minor note, have finally come round to the idea of bodysuits... only mesh though which i could wear under a cropped top. but at the moment, the thought of baring my midriff makes me physically mortified (if that's possible) due to the literal amounts of cheesecake, chocolate and ice cream my mum has forced at me since i'm only home for 2 weeks for easter break!

slight possibility i've put on about 4Ilbs in a week- nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

american apparel mesh bodysuit - £20

Right, before i turn into a round, tubby, lard-ass, detox and diet will commence starting from tomorrow- bring on the fruit and veg! i literally cannot do moderation with sweet things, i must be a all or nothing kind of girl

.....think of the bodysuit think of the bodysuit think of the bodysuit think of the bodysuit.....

p.s. whoops i just purchased a denim shirt for £2.70 on ebay... kerching!

Sugared poison

Listening to: Radiohead - Talk Show Host

Today has been designated 'fat day'.

I've been (relatively) good over the past few days, and to make sure i don't suddenly blank out one evening and come around an hour later, lying down in the middle of the kitchen floor, surrounded by corpses of empty chocolate wrappers, peanut butter smeared around my lips, crusts of bread crawling away from the carnage, i had to let myself go a lil' for the day.

Don't worry, I'm not going to give you a run down of my indulgences of the day... it would be therapeutic to share...but shit boring to read.

In a nutshell: enough to make me feel guilty, not enough to make me feel wildly fat..

I've got the need for cool retro stylee oversized t-shirts. MIght have to make them though- Fashion on a budget, people..

My ass has gone numb from sitting at this damn laptop all day....

p.s. Hello April, where the devil did you spring from?!

Read my Poker face

Listening to: KOL - Revelry

Now at home for Easter - pretty much all the unpacking ive achieved so far...

A came down to my end of the country on Friday night, first time she's actually seen my university city and my house. She was feeling pretty cruddy with a virus, probably due to the epicness of the weekend. Recovery has never been that sweet to her. Was a right laugh though as i bundled her into my local pub, the Old Firehouse, and got some wine down her neck- always the best medicine...probably...

The Old Firehouse is a dark cosy three tiered pub with old wooden benches which will snag your tights and probably give you splinters if you decided to slide around on your seat. Thick warped tables with wax dribbled wine bottles providing candlelight- the only other light source apart from a couple of random strands of fairy lights- perfection.

Perfect for a date, or to get hammered with friends (or family in this case) on wine for a fiver! We had a good sisterly catch up/drunken ramble since the party wasn't really the time/place for such things, and i got mistaken for Lily Allen by a drunken local (called 'Hagrid' due to his resemblance to the Harry Potter character- hot stuff i do believe...). As he was too drunk to be served, he pressed a wad of change in my hand to get 'a couple of pints of cider', which was definitely a slice of fried gold... until he asked for me to sing for him....cue me grabbing my pints, flash a sweet smile, and running for my life!

Disclaimer: i look nothing like the above photograph... i do love lily though!

Some tattooed dudes sitting next to us upstairs clocked our piercings and tattoos and began talking loudly about girls and shagging and 'wild adventures'... sure thing guys, I'm sure you are really cool but keep it to yourself. Managed to con a slice of pizza from them (toll for us having to move for them to leave/go to the loo) but then kindly rejected their alluring invite of meeting us in a club.

Soon we had to stumble home for ice cream and stolen Chomp bars....

New Tattoo: less scabby, more pretty
